I Am What I Am
I look to my life and the story that it tells.
Who am I? I ask myself, the tale pours out.
I somehow don't believe that this is who I am ;
I am what I am.
I am not the thoughts that defined my past;
I am not the thoughts of my future dreams.
I have never believed that this is who I am;
I am what I am.
Somewhere within, there is a quiet peace
That answers the question on my heart.
The answer is becoming clearer today;
I am what I am.
My existence is in this present moment,
I can look to neither the past nor the future.
For I am simply me within this eternal now;
I am what I am.
