This is not just another poem
It's a just in case you never know-
One day you well could be really stuck
Out in the wilderness it's very so-
A long distance car brake down or maybe
Lost away out in the wild somewhere alone-
A few bits of knowledge can save a life
And even get you home-
A few important survival skills needed
By every single soul-
Simple things to learn and mentally store
A little common sense from days of old-
No weight to carry once you know
Things to know how to stay alive-
How to.when to, and why to as well
Little wisdom's of how to survive-
Being prepared when ever you go out doors
A few extra things do not weigh a lot-
What to take just in case every time
That just could be needed is what you've got-
Shelter,warmth,finding food and water
Maybe shade and fire wood dry-
How to let others know where you are
All decide if you live or die-
Oh this will never happen to me
I've heard it all before-
Be prepared all of the time
And you will see again those you adore-
Endless books about this for sale
The better ones a bush-mans bible-
So much to learn easy to remember too
On all one needs to know about survival-
Get one read it and or take it along
One simply never really knows-
Up the track a ways to come
Sometimes the strangest wind it blows-
How to make an igloo or a hut
How to make rope only from bark-
And if you need a fire bright and warm
How to create a fire from a spark-
Some medical know how no extra load
we've all got room spare within a mind-
A few simple survival skills to know
Is the greatest knowledge you will find-
I have always been a keen survival soul
And a few times it saved my very life-
Buy yourself a few books on same and read
One day they will save you from such strife-
