The Older Ways

the good days

As a candle it does burn
The shorter it gets too-
The further we go ahead sometimes
The less good things we have it's true-
Times are getting to where some wish
Money it grew upon a tree-
But way back in the older days
They saved so very much you see-
Back in the older Victorian ways
The way they did some things back when-
If we could do just of them a few
So many would save ever so much and then-
By doing and making just a few things
As they did before electricity and such-
Would save today way more than your pay
And give birth to self achievement and much-
Another way to match and help recycling
From furniture to jams and cooking-
Washing and making clothes as well
Saving so much while others are looking-
Making your home made bread and cakes etc
Home made butter , cream and spreads-
Patchwork quilts and even warm rugs
All appreciated then on beds-
The older ways from the older days
Candles beautiful how they would burn-
Today one could save so very much indeed
If some of the older ways would learn-
