MUMBAI ATTACKS

That whole week
Mumbai on my TV
Affecting the world
Of an Oregon woman

Sick at my tummy
Depressed
Worried
About if he would die

Or his family in danger
It was my heart that cried
Eyes too
Had to hear your voice

Just once at least
In the serious time
Of urban terror
For one I love

So safe here
Have benign news mostly
100 pound dog to protect me
Raised my kids, what's to live for?

Then a Mumbai man comes along
Connects me to India in spirit
There is much world
I know little of

Never to old to learn
Instead of medical books
I read what he writes too
The Mumbai attacks still affect me

Anything to do with India will
From now on throughout my life
Hungry for knowledge that's truth
However, truth often hurts

Not dead but was deaden
He lived but less smiles now
Half a world away it calls
To this infidel

An infidel because love rules
A traitor to fanatic Islamic rule
Should I paint a sign on my roof
My mouth makes me an easy target

Terrorism wouldn't waste its time
On a small town in Oregon
It wants the masses
Greed for money and power

Would you protect me
Have mercy for tears far away
Let me be assured
You and yours still live

Yes, he would
Yes, he did
During the Mumbai attacks
Felt halfway around the Earth.
