Persuading Obedience
Give me an ear my son
I want you be the one;
Hear what I have to say,
As you start a new day.
God has blest you my lad,
Having me for a dad;
Hoping what I have taught,
Does help your train of thought.
Think of what I have said,
Never let leave your head;
My time is running short,
When I have to leave port.
For when I was your age,
My life was in that stage;
Of wanting to explore,
And advise to ignore.
He told me of one rule,
That could make me a fool;
If not adhering all,
Then I surely will fall.
Read the Bible each day,
Trusting God and obey;
For the truth and wisdom,
Gears you for His Kingdom.
