The question of "truth" undoubtedly intrigues me.
"What is truth?" is crazily philosophical.
How comforting to think that intention makes a big difference.
In other words, let's put the
principle of selective perception aside for now.
When I lie to make an impression,
I care what others think.
My fish tale has a motive.
On the other hand, integrity to the dogs.
Accepting who I am and what I stand for,
I will not lie.
Choosing to lie diminishes honesty.
I'm coming at it from a skewed direction.
A conservative will think and act conservatively.
A liberal, liberally.
A radical, radically.
Viewpoints are truthful.
When I look at reality from my vantage point,
wholly and truly,
falsehood is not necessary.
I care what others think, sure.
However, I should not be blinded by too large a stake.
I may feel a need to maniipulate reality.
Or, something is inadequate that makes me lie.
How about feelings of inadequacy?
