My grandson Caleb, six foot two inch's
tall, well before his Fourteenth Birthday,
a big smile that's at home on his face,
lights up pearly whites, and my heart
alike
So tall he has to lower himself to give
his gramme a hug, but those eyes, seems
Like his eyes dance with laughter, a
Joyfulness that bubbles up in him, till
It reaches those beautiful soulful eyes
I think back over the years, as I sew
the binding back onto this quilt, a quilt
I made for him, that I'm now having to
lengthen, hopefully it will now cover the
making, of what promises to be, a big man
one day
My Caleb, a sensitive, caring kid, always
there to lend a helping hand, regardless
of the task, unlike so many of his peers,
who have many other wonders to discover,
seems like he was born knowing the more
Important things in life
Love, unlike his quilt that I've now finished,
A quilt that will one day be old and tattered,
love when cultivated is indistructable, If
I'm still here, I Hope to one day make a
Wedding quilt for my Caleb and his bride,
but the love of family, continually nurtured
and cherished, I know will always shine
Bright, In my Caleb's eyes.
