When I was nothing but a boy
I played those games back as a lad-
Robin Hood and all the rest
The greatest times I had-
But now after such a longest time
I stand in awe to see-
An original last forest oak
The old oak Sherwood Forest Tree-
It was there when they were too
Robin Hood and his merry band-
Still growing wide and strong
Right where it did then on forest land-
In Sherwood forest where all were once
Where from all the stories came-
Away away back in that day
Love by all the sunshine and the rain-
This oldest oak still standing proud
A greatest ever in life sight to see-
Growing in all it's glory still
As a still healthy living memory-
One comes to feel that it's so real
It was not all that long ago-
That Robin Hood stood for the good
Right where this tree does grow-
