Ancestral-Hood


My ancestral-hood
Does not give birth-rite to my destiny
My ancestral-hood
Is my birth-rite
But
Not by color, culture or ethnicity
But
By birth and birth alone-

My destiny is mine's
And
Mine's alone-

It is my fortitude
That will determine my own destiny
Not you, nor my race, nor my family
That determines who I am
Or
   What I am-

I will always be me
‘So do not lie'
And
Blame your misfortunes
On your ancestral-hood-

‘Be brave, be strong and be ambitious
And
Determine your own path
Through life'…
