Glory be to Our Lord God Almighty
Let America be known as the land of opportunity
That all man is truly created equally
Let freedom ring not through pridefulness but humility
Today President Obama has made history
Showing in America you can be all you can be
As he becomes the 44th president of the United States
May God be in the forefront of all decisions made
The honorable Reverend Lowry spoke
With honor to God and poetically he awoke
Beginning and ending with rhyme bestowed
For all color of humanity he addressed and foretold
In Ecclessiastes it is written there's a time and season
Let the glory of God go forth for this reason
America is the home of the brave and land of the free
As Martin Luther King foretold of his dream
That mankind not be judged by the color of his skin
But the contents of his character displayed within
For this day will go down in history
As proclaimed and displayed on the statue of liberty
To my brothers and sisters of all nations and race
May we exalt the Lord God of mercy and grace
As unity and love envelopes this place
May God help us through all the obstacles we face
For it is in Him that we all live and have our being
I pray my brothers and sisters this is what we're all seeing
For it is he that lifts up and brings down
Let God be exalted in this most blessed nation
Lord God, I give you all the honor and praise
Let healing of past wrongs begin this day
Let all remember it is prayer that brings good change
As well as blessings and protection for leaders
of any great nation
