PLAYING WITH A POET

Poet's do not always play well
Like a sponge life is full
Here to speak out loud we tell
About all of this life's bull

Play we can
Running and skip
Dance with the man
Until we flip

Away from him and all
Our off centered emotions come
Down to the ground we fall
Get up dust off the dirt and feel dumb

We think that men are true
We wonder if they care for us
We tell them "I love you"
We only want someone to trust

Our words are golden
Even if old fashion
As we live in the olden
Days or we're crashing

Into the waves of fire
Devil's gonna take us down
We need to know your desire
Will come back around

If it's not going to
Quit playing
As we love you
Without saying

Anything
You can tell
Everything
Can go to hell

Burning in the flames of a man
One whose fires heat is returned
When you going to understand
Play with a poet, you might get burned.
