I have but once beheld such beauty
and for that moment… my heart stood still
I could not move for the beauty before me
she was all I dreamed and the dream was real.
I wanted to reach out and feel her soft skin
to kiss her lips and taste her smile
my heart so full of joy it was singing
and life stood still for just a little while.
But the beauty before me was not mine to be close to
and only that moment my heart would know
for she walked hand in hand with another besides her
her warm eyes smiling… her face aglow.
I was tempted to reach out… and tell her I love her
though I had never before seen her smile
she was so very beautiful and all I had dreamed of…
and it was nice to dream… for a little while.
