Often we hear about miraculous events but this tale invites us to think very hard
Upon the wonderful plans the Lord has for each person whom He holds in high regard

His parents were not educated but were humble farmers who worshipped the Lord with joy
At the time preceeding his birth they were excitedly praying that the baby would be a boy

But at the last moment the doctor and midwife were busy with patients in an adjacent town
The mother was having a difficult time and the father feared she'd die without a doc. around

When there was a strange knock on the door he rushed out as hope brighten his troubled face
It was an unknown woman who said she was a midwife so he welcomed her with a warm embrace

Gentlly the sweet lady worked silently for hours with a serene look upon her lovely face
She comforted the worried father who felt relieved that she was a midwife filled with grace

Then she made a strange request hugging the child who was sleeping as quiet as a lamb
The parents looked surprised when she ask them to name their firstborn child "Abraham"

Smiling she said goodbye and kissed the grateful mother then walked slowly down the road
The parents had never seen the lady before but were happy to know she had come to their abode

Years passed quickly yet the parents never forgot the sudden appearance of the unknown midwife
When he grew the child became a man who would lead ther nation into freedom and a new way of life

"Honest Abe" was the nicknamed given to the child destined for greatness to whom the Good Lord did bless
In a poor farmer's log cabin an angel was sent to make sure he would live to give the Gettysburg address
