 If I Could Sing
by Fred Pifer.
I would praise you with my voice lifted up on high;
I would honor you with a song whenever you're neigh;
Everyone would know the joy that resides in my heart;
All would understand, they wouldn't have to be smart;
If I could sing, a song I would sing for you.
My voice could be heard from the mountains;
My voice would sound like cascading fountains;
In total earnestness I would pour out my love;
Raise my praises to my God in heaven above;
If I could sing, a song I would sing in tune.
With complete honesty I would open my mouth;
A tribute to you, the prized beauty of the south;
Under your balcony, not even a guitar in hand;
I sing without full orchestration, not even a band;
If I could sing, I would sing a song brand new.
Accapella, I would lift my song to you crystal clear;
Allowing my heartsong to come out whenever your near;
With poetic words I would lift with my voice so sweet;
I know that singing you a love song would really be neat;
If I could sing, I would sing to you under the moon.
