Love Is

I really wasn't ready to even attempt
to replace him yet... Five years is a long
time for the pain of such a loss to last, but
he filled every crevice of my heart
and when he left the pain was unbearable
but the love remained...
All of it...
A love I will never forget
or let go of.
 
What led me to that site on the web that night
Well I really haven't a clue.
Just browsing thru picture after picture
reading personal information on each
and then there were those eyes that seemed
to reach down to my soul right thru my heart
 
I immediately began to think
Can I do this again...
Do I have what it takes...
Am I the right one for you...
Can I love that deeply again.
Can You ???
 
It says you are a good listener
Well with those eyes that is a given.
That you have a playful side
Oh I pray that you do...
That you also accept and give love freely
Oh how badly I need that again
But can I give you what you need
 
Well with the encouragement from my
dearest friends I decided to take the chance...
 
On January 2nd I finally felt you in my arms
Oh the warmth and love you gave back in return
I had forgotten how it felt to truly smile
from the heart.
 
In less than a month you have given
me so much joy.  To have you beg me
not to leave in the morning.
To not come home to an empty house
with you meeting me at the door
 
The laughs...
To feel you next to me in the night
The good morning  kisses
When you want attention
the way you have of getting me off
of the computer then taking my chair
so I wont get back on.
 
Oh the joy we share every day
I know will last a life time.
You are such a treasure in my life
just like he was
but in your own way.
 
Once again I understand what
unconditional love is...
I hope you do too...
 
Now that I have revealed my heart
let me now introduce to you
the one responsible
