Today, I'll try to share a part
Of her who gave my life it's start
Born of love, where she would say
Was one of six of her best days
I watched her close when times were rough
When heartbreak came she'd toughen up
Married, alone she'd hold and care
For five siblings this too she'd bare
The storms of life would rage and claim
Taking husband, leaving great pain
But rise above and showed her best
Above all odds, she gave no less
The best of her was shared with you
Throughout the years, more than a few
She'd impact lives and save the day
Still does I'd say, it's just her way
Sheltered many, humbly she'd give
To many here a place to live
Sharing her roof, more than a meal
A place called home, welcomed you'd feel
I look back now and hold back tears
You see today her eighty years
Seem not enough to celebrate
The best of mom upon this date
So please forgive us if we fell short
Of telling all, my life's support
The best of her we've kept right here
Her sentiment and my best years
