 JANET'S PLANET

Crash

Dreadful thoughts swirling in my head
I will squeeze them into the past
The incident attacks me in bed
Everything happened suddenly fast

Couple, heading homeward bound
Making a right turn that bleak night
Questions, exchanges, people all around
Shaking, trembling with fright

The forceful loud impact, flash, lash, smash
Twisting turning, out of control
Racing, roaring, rushing, bang, the big crash
Waiting standing in the cold

Speeding striking our car
Hard to stop dwelling
On sudden bruises and scars
Discovering areas on my body swelling

We both alive still here
Restless as we close our weary eyes
What happened that night still seems foggy and unclear
We are blessed to see the golden sunrise

We now must courageously face
All that lies ahead together
Thanking God for his abundant grace
Keeping us in this time and place in all kinds of weather
