Heart Of The Matter

Never Speak Again ....

Photobucket

I know I'll never speak to you again,
Nor ever hear the words you have to say,
I tried so hard to free you from the rain,
The cost of friendship far too much to pay,

And standing on the outside looking in,
I see the bigger picture taking shape,
The borders now are blackened, burned and thin,
The silken threads mere tacky tinsel tape,

The past is gone; you'll never make it right,
You wounded; and the scars will never heal,
Yet still, for you I wish a future bright,
And love, above all else, a love that's real,

Too many nights left standing in the rain,
I know, I'll never speak to you again…
