YOUR WORDS

I long for his attention
His words of delight
Did I mention
Sometimes I'm right

Then sometimes I'm wrong
Or stuck in the middle
With a song
And a fiddle

That I cannot play
Get out that guitar
Chase the blues away
To go flying far

From this place where I live
There's mud on the sidewalk
Where I want to give
And I try to talk

About what I think
My free flowing thought
Sends me to the brink
Where I'm caught

In a world of my making
Where it's cold, painful
With this body aching
Mind wants to be gainful

To gain the love of one
Live light walk tall
Where always the sun
Turns in it's ball

On fire it burns
From water I come
Touch it and one learns
Burnings no fun

Hurting for you
What is a fantasy
Crying felt true
All because I see

Your soul from this distance
Your face in a frame
Makes me act with persistence
Puts me to shame

As coveting's one of many sins
Tenth commandment there
Find faith in friends
Be thankful for what life will share.
