 Faraway Spring
Ship Pictures, Images and Photos

I didn't mind when the wind bit through me
I didn't care when the breaking sea
Rolled up over the leeward rail
The salty spray only set me free

Somewhere she is a warm sun rising
An old familiar song reprising
A rhythm kept by the beating sail
That she sings across the world to me

There is an evil where land meets water
Rising like the shore's own daughter
But I'm not fooled by it's alluring
Promise of a peaceful land

Because her smile is the driving wind
It calms and cools my burning skin
Nothing else keeps me enduring
The hazards of the rocks and sand

The sea sprites shout their mocking laughter
Confusing me is what they're after
They're an amusing distraction
They turn my head but my course is true

She is my compass that never spins
She is the place where my hope begins
She is my only satisfaction
Who guides me in everything I do
