Surrender
The years quickly fade into the oblivion of sameness.
Growth in my spirit is dwarfed by my ego's demands.
Without the surrender to my higher self, I grow stagnate.
Seeking to be at another level, yet unable to die to self.
Power of change flows through my body, mind, and soul
Only when I surrender my ego to my higher calling.
Reaching into the depths of my bag of tricks yesterday,
Taking charge, I tried to change my life from the outside in.
This never works , like turning over a new leaf, or a resolution;
No, true change comes from the inside, then it radiates out.
This only happens if I lay down my rights, surrender to the moment;
Living fully present, I can become the man I was destined to be.
