I'd like to explain why I'm not at your B-Day party
I've become temporarily indisposed as of last night
The reasons may be a bit hard for you to comprehend
If you saw me you'd want to hide away from sight
I had a plan to surprise you just like young Romeo
In the moonlight he sneaked around to court his Juliet
I climbed the fence and up the arbor neath your window
Suddenly the sprinkler came on which soaked me all wet
I was prepared with my guitar to sing a song for you
But sprinkled with the cold water my voice disappeared
The freezing water sprayed my face and I could not see
I thought I'd scrap my idea cuz I felt pretty weird
My damp hands slipped off the leaves and I fell hard
Directly on the head of your savage dog waiting below
He thought I was a burglar and took a nip at my legs
My pants was ripped to shreds and my pride got a blow
The dog chased me round the pool which I highly resent
He raced me through the cactus where I got a deep scratch
Finally I smacked him with my guitar and ran for my life
It would be nice to see you when my breath I can catch
