Utterly badly beaten and completely unrecognizable,
lays the remains of a bruised heart.
Trials and tribulations it has overcome,
Faintly beating but ever so lightly still breathing.
Striving to hold on and continuing to remain strong.
Going the mile and not in any denial,
Seeking that healing love,
the special kind from heaven above.
A restless journey,
In every part turning,
and yet always yearning.
Sliding corridors and thin passages of learning,
still enduring.
Bearing the endless agony,
of disappointment time and time again.
Delicate and fragile it has become,
searching for a suitor that will fix what has already been done.
Old tears and scars of the past remain,
depicting what has not been in vain.
Too precious to let anyone near because of the knowing fear.
Desperately fighting for what is right within.
Steadily getting bruised and bruised once again.
Knowing the consequences of going on,
not wanting to give in,
certainly not giving up.
A never-ending battle within my chest,
different from all the rest,
confusion settles making a mess.
Secretly mine to hide,
Truly no one to confide,
How I really feel,
Bruised on the inside,
Seemingly normal on the outside.
Never knowing by looking in my eyes.
