Pleading Prayer
I have sinned against Heaven,
And I have sinned in His sight;
Not worthy what is given,
No more am I a delight.
I have done wrong in His eyes,
No longer be called His son;
For the deceit and the lies,
In all that was said and done.
For my branch can bear no fruit,
And considered a disgrace;
With a faith that cannot root,
Into such a rocky place.
Having put my desire,
Wholly in front of the Lord;
And deserve the lake of fire,
Because His Word was ignored.
I ask the Lord to forgive,
Shining His mercy on me;
Releasing me as a captive,
From all the sin set me free.
Purify my mind and heart,
Cleansing the thoughts, words and deeds,
So I can make a new start,
In sowing the righteous seeds.
