 The Decision

Strange circumstances are upon us as we seek out what is just and true;
A polarization of our forces, as we are experiencing something totally new.
We look around to our sisters and brothers for an answer or a solution;
But as the rhetoric rises on either side, always remember, We are union.

Choices will have to be made soon as we seek that which is right;
Remember that we are brothers and sisters,  yes even when we fight.
Will you select the Steelworks or do you choose CPU?
In the end the decision can only be made by you.

Seek out guidance from within and from those around and about;
No matter what your vote is,  let wisdom be your route.
Don't allow your decision to be motivated out of anger or out of fear;
Search your heart deeply as you decide when the time draws near.

After all is said and done, and the decision has been finally made;
One will stand to represent us out of this rebirth for which we have paid.
Look at your brother and sister, no matter on what side they once stood;
For when this is over, it will be time to reunite, as we know we should.

We are Union and together we must stand fast;
Let our differences of viewpoints lay dead in the past.
Let us not be like the elected Congress still separate throughout their term;
Remember that we are the Covington Union, that in unison we shall stand firm.

At the papermill where I work, we are in the midst of a long battle amongst
brothers and sisters. The union is split from within due to a variety of
circumstances. The USW (United Steelworks Union) are the international union
and the attempted local spin off CPU (Covington Paperworkers Union). The matter
is in the hands of the National Labor Relations Board. This is my cry for unity.
