The Weakness of the Old Law
I wonder how I can measure,
In giving all of the pleasure;
With offering unto our God,
Worshipping to honor and laud.
No desire for offerings for sin,
Or burnt offerings that had been;
The Lord found no pleasure in them,
Considered as a stratagem.
For all have sinned and fallen short,
Getting to the heavenly port;
For we are truly too impure,
Attempting to enter the door.
The old order taken away,
An alternative to obey;
So Jesus was used in their place,
To hang on the cross in disgrace.
We have been made holy through Christ,
His body being sacrificed;
So each one of us God can bless,
After cleansed from unrighteousness.
To err is norm for human kind,
But forgiveness is Holy Divine;
Devising the means to wash the sin,
To purify and cleanse within.
