 SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
So far six Academy awards
Hats off to Mumbai
A courtesy if you please
For a city there by

The Arabian Sea
An American will know
About your city
In a show

Congratulations director
Congratulations score
Congratulations best movie
Congratulations for three more

My standing ovation
My clapping of hands
My smiles go to all of you
There in India land

Tomorrow I will experience
In a perfect picture with surround sound
As I live emotionally each moment
Longing to be Mumbai bound

Go see the slum
Go see the dance
Go see the movie
Go see a chance

For art to be religion
Stand on a corner recite poetry
It's probably not impossible
There to live dreams free

Came from a labor camp
Another name for an American slum
Glad to be an artist
Even if you think I'm dumb

Not an untouchable
Perhaps close
Dad was a dairy farmer
Cows to him to toast

Times before milking machines
Added vitamins and pasteurization
Hands were use for milking then
Up early every day no hesitations

Cow eyes
Cow family
Cows sacred in India
Holy cow it has me

Enlightened by it's shine
Beautified by it's voice
Enthralled by this movie
Heart full of the choice

To love his city
Love where he could be
Love another culture
Love more: sweet India's in me.
