 JUST FOR NOW
For now
Somehow
I take my medicine
Grateful for him
My muse
Whom I use
For poetry
To free the pain in me

He resends
As my friend
Sayings wise
To compromise
The love in me
That we cannot be
Right now

There's always later
And I will be a waiter
Awaiting to serve him
With words simple
Because that dimple
I cannot kiss
I miss

And those lips
I want to feel
Won't kill
Me
If I come to grips
That he is my friend

For now somehow
It will have to be
Enough although
Tough
For me to do
Without the words
Of you

That you keep sending
I try to be blending
In the politeness
The rightness
Of another breed
Who learned another
Creed
When he was young
Now middle aged he
Has his fun

And I hope my sublime
Reaches him in time
To never forget
That my candles lit
By yours

Although far away
It lights my dark
If I will stay
Close to it's warm
In the circle of
It's light
His words I find
For me
Make right

All the striving
All the driving
The pain in my back
Strength I lack
When once I was
A demigod
You think I'm odd
Well I don't understand
And it's okay
Because in plan
Poets fade away

Until after death
Then someone will see
The emotional self
That's caught in me
At least my children
Maybe my friends
Will see a kindred spirit
That never ends
Because his words
Will shine through me
The stuff he sends
Will set me free

To seeing I am trying
Day by day
Even if crying
For his stay
To come to me
And hold me close
By his side free
I want the most

Maybe not
Maybe so
Maybe I'm caught
In love that will show
Stupid verse
Words that flow
Poet's curse
To try to show
Writing is King
Simple line
With his I feel
Simply divine

From sun his divinity
Comes all day
From nil his words
Make me play
A heartune song
Where in my spirit
I belong
To him and he can fear it

I wear a ring
As sent him
I do some things
On senseless whim
I have to be motivated
By outside forces
or I am hated
By my life's courses

Of my big mouth
Of my boring poetry
Burying me down South
Where the devil could be
Under the ground
The devil's hell
Will I be around
It's flame to tell
How fire burns
Scorches your flesh
So take the turns
Don't guess

Go through the small gate
Take the narrow road
Don't hate
Let go and let his
Words
Ease my load
And he will
Because he loves me a little
And he'll fill
Up the middle
Of all the space
Between us
With ideas I've not known
And we'll learn to trust
That we're are not alone
Because we write
We think of each other
Dreaming sleep at night
Morning sun to recover.
