Living Wisely
The fear of the Lord is the start,
Of needed knowledge for the heart;
And be able to understand,
Wisdom differs from grains of sand.
Having knowledge is a wise thought,
In giving wisdom that is taught;
Comprehending the wrong from right,
As a blessing having insight.
Being clear with words of reason,
Quitting before things may worsen;
Besides knowing the reason why,
And determine truth from a lie.
A wise man learns from what he hears,
For good sense guides it through his ears;
Sincere about purpose and goal,
Cautious not to corrupt his soul.
He is trained in the righteousness,
Ways of wisdom that God will bless;
Judging truly straight behavior,
That is sanctioned by the Savior.
Do not give up what you are taught,
And God will reveal on what you sought;
As a crown of grace for your head,
Holding the knowledge to be fed.
