My Love

Loving you was never easy
sometimes loving you so much that I cried
now sitting here, quietly all alone
I remember the taste of your lies.
So bittersweet the tales you told
whispering softly that only I was your man
while all the time someone else's arms…
held my love in the palms of his hands.
I am sure I knew all the things you do
but you did them to me oh so well
and somewhere deep inside where my feelings cry
my heart knew the lies that you tell.
Loving you was always my dream
just to be close and smell the scent of your hair
to hold your hand and be your man…
and know that you'll always be there.
But your lies fell through and then I knew
that I could never again hold you near
for I loved to much and now without your touch
I am destined to be alone with my tears.
