 Boat Drinks

Excuse me, Mr. Buffet, for borrowing your line,
Unable to wait for our cruise, I make a  little rhyme.
Sailing off to tropical Caribbean ports next week,
Looking to relax, have some fun, this is what we seek.

Sherrie and I need to escape from the cold and stress,
As the tangles of our purse strings are really in a mess.
Freedom can be found at sea with a boat drink in our hand,
If even for a week, we need this break, you can understand.

Boat drinks, with umbrellas and chunks of tropical fruit,
Throw in a mixture of alcohol for that tangy kick to boot.
Ease creeps up on us as we lay out under the sun on deck,
It is time to eat, drink, and romance; relax, what the heck.

Grand Turk, St. Thomas, St. Martin, and the Bahamas await,
We are set to enjoy ourselves with a completely clean slate.
Yes, we must return the following Sunday to our reality here,
But in the meantime, give my wife a boat drink, I'll take a beer.

Sitting out on our balcony, listening to the hull cutting the surf,
The sounds of the seaside welcome us, for all they are worth.
We are ready to getaway, Sherrie looks at me and she winks,
Next week, we'll be sharing paradise and the tasty boat drinks.
