Love Decreed
Since God knew before you came,
You were to be like His Son;
And is why you bear His name,
Of whence your life had begun.
And when you are meeting others,
That would come into your site;
Are of the band of brothers,
As belonging to the light.
What may we say of these things,
For if God is on our side;
Who would be the foe that brings,
The deceit that would misguide.
He did not keep back His Son,
But gave Him up for us all;
And could to get the job done,
Giving Satan a downfall.
So would He not freely give,
To all of us who believe;
And can eternally live,
Through salvation we receive.
No more does death have a sting,
Or of the grave should we fear;
If to the cross that we cling,
If loving Christ is sincere.
