Presence
To be completely awake and alive,
Fully aware of my five senses,
I must become comfortable with what is.
Not that which I wish it to be,
But I must make peace with the moment.
Alive in Presence.
I can no longer hide in my past
When life doesn't please me,
Nor can I run into the future
As I attempt to escape the reality;
Acceptance of what is without recoil.
Awake in Presence.
This is not submission to be dominated by life,
Simply a pact with the eternal present moment.
To live, and move, and have my being in the now;
The vibrancy of a life lived on the wave of freedom,
Surfing on my long board going for the prolonged ride.
Aware in Presence.
