A Thankful SpiritIn the faith you will have the love, Of sisters and brothers thereof; And keep loving no matter what, The same way as Jesus had taught. Take care to keep an open home. To others that you see may roam; An angel might be as your guest, And ensure that you will be blest. Keep in mind those who are in chains, Prisoners of someone who reigns; You can help them through giving peace, So they can be cleansed to release. Let married life to honor you, And to your spouse always be true; For if you are holding a grudge. On that last day the Lord will judge. Be free from the love of money, It cannot keep your days sunny; Be pleased with the things that you own, Rid of what God does not condone. Better to give than to receive, If you have faith and do believe; A thankful Spirit from above, Will be blessing your Christian love. --Richard Newton Sherrer Copyright ©2009 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
