Ode to "C" Rats
This poem is for all my military buddies who will understand these
simple words of truth about the food we received while standing our posts.
I don't know who named it Tuna Fish
Because this was one nasty dish
If you were the last to be fed its Eggs and Ham
I really wish it could have been Span
3 inches of Grease covering Beef, Potatoes and Gravy
To eat this we must have been crazy
A can of Chicken or Turkey boned
If you ate this you must have been stoned
Tomato sauce, Beans with Frankfurter chunks
Would leave you with gas in your trunk
Beans, Tomatoes and old Meat Balls
Would flap your cheeks and tighten your jaws
A good spice sauce loaded with beef
Left you digging and picking meat from your teeth
Who could forget the loaf of Turkey
So tough it could have been jerky
Last but not least was one called Beefsteak
Even the dogs this one they would not take
This one is for you Monk.
