Fire
With all these bushfires burning fast
I hope and pray they will not last,
So many homes have burnt to the ground
Smoke and ash are all around,
So many lives have been lost
As we struggle to save our homes
At any cost,
The fires are burning strong and fast
There seems to be no end,
The choice does not always seem clear
Do we go or stay and defend,
Where these fires started
We will never know,
As I watch people scrambling
Looking for somewhere to go,
This has been such a dreadful day
Like so many others
All I can do is pray
