CHILD HEADED HOUSEHOLDS - II

They were four days into their mourning
When a violent storm hit Rakai hills without a warning
Their simple thatched home of mud began to wobble
The boys survived but the house turned to rubble
They turned to their aunt after salvaging what they could
They hoped she would welcome them, sure she would
But unfortunately things took a turn for the worse
And they were greeted with a scream and a curse
She grabbed their belongings and chased them away
On hearing their misfortune, she wouldn't let them stay
“You are both going to die, get away from us!!”
Emmanuel had many questions, Fred had few answers

Whispers of a deadly disease expose them to discrimination
With no one to fend for them, they faced exploitation
Emmanuel and Fred are just three and eight years old
Together they are just another child-headed household.
