 The Underground
Strangers all facing different directions,
Different races and complexions,
Getting on and off, transferring to diverse destinations,
Packed in the same car,
Temporarily headed the same way,
Never seen anyone of them before this day,
After many years, I'm back on the subway,
Cheaper than driving for sure,
Definitely less traffic below,
These facts I know,
So, why do I hate it so?
Car out of commission but to Jummah Salaat I must go,
Next stop,
City Hall,
Doors opening,
Transfer here for the
Market-Frankfort Elevated line,
Subway surface trolley line,
And buses routes to all points,
Doors closing,
