When children smile

                        When children smile               March 12,2009

I saw my children smile today, the troubles have gone away
I felt easy as they smiled, I thought of the things that passed
The fields that are gone, and the town I loved so well
I counted the cost of my friends that have gone
How many only God can tell
I remember with pride from deep inside
We sang songs together before they went away
From the south side of country to the province of pain
The sun shines on homes when the storm hits others
It rains with tears and laughter
Mother Ireland watches with tears in her eye
If a country could cry please look to the sky
If a tear touches you from the things that are true
Don't ignore the call, it's a message just for you
The children of Ireland will smile again
