 Our Balcony
We have a stateroom with a balcony looking out into the vastness of the blues
Near the bow about sixty feet above the waters
With a starboard view into each days glory
But I was surprised by the sounds in my ears
I knew that the sights from the balcony would be very inspiring
With natures pallet splashing out a visual treasure for my heart
But my ears are hearing a familiar sound
That of waves breaking on a shoreline
Even though a hundred miles from the nearest coast out in the open seas
The musical sound that nature combined with man's creation makes
As the hull widens at the waterline beneath our stateroom
The keel of the ship cuts through the blue waters
Ripping the tops off the seas moon guided waves along our journey
The crashing rhythm of our keel skimming along on our voyage
The seashore is recreated by this symphony of sounds
I am stilled by the lullaby of the waves breaking against our hull
