Take Me to Church (for Barbra Streisand)

They're on their way out.
We're on our way in.
The situation is over for them.
Wisdom is mature and that's why we listen.
Feeling maturity makes the old geezer
worth our time.
We enjoy the pleasure of the old bat's conversation.
Sit and watch the golf game with him.
Go to church with her.

By some trick of logic,
golf and church are enormously boring.
I like the tree that
has fully grown after it is planted.
It looks better.
The trick of logic is better there.
Aha!  understanding the elderly is a trick of logic.
Well, why not?
Everything else is.
Thinking makes it so, per Hamlet.
He loved his maturity,
but killing Claudius was too much respect
to show for one day.

Be proud.
We have only to appreciate the grace that says:
"I've been through that, dear."
Time and experience make wisdom.
That's half the battle.
If they are then leading you astray,
then reject and avoid them--not before.

The old bat may not have any money.
The old geezer may look a perfect failure.
No, we, the young, are wrestling with life.
We are struggling with perception.
We may want to strike out with all
of our narcissism intact.
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed.
Our spririt is the true spirit of the aged.
Life, maturity, and wisdom are theirs.
This is a church principle.
