The Chill of Winter
rules once again
without the warmth of the sun
to sooth this hurt.
All I see is black
white or gray
Already I am daydreaming
of greener pastures
Bare trees give birth
to melancholy that
tames this wild heart.
Chased by the bitterness
of the blistering winds
howling piercing cries
from hungry creatures,
night turns even blacker
casting shadows of
darkest gloom
silence is screaming FEAR!
Chained in solitude
crippled from the cold
dread overwhelms my soul.
Until in the darkest
GODS LIGHT
***BURST***
into my being
warming my soul
with HIS invisible flames
opening my eyes
causing me to see
the beauty of the cold
as my fears dissipate....
I face this
season of my life
no longer a child,
I am a brave woman
empowered by Her Lord
hidden IN HIM forever
embracing THE WINTER'S
with arms wide-opened!
