Poetic Verses

George Harrison

I found it most disturbing
To learn that you had died
The world had lost a troubadour
For whom so many cried.

They said you were the quiet one
Who had the least to say
Yet, what you chose to sing about
Remains with us today.

You sang about a sad guitar
That oftentimes would weep
And also, of that sweetest Lord
You longed one day to meet.

You always played your humble part
And never once complained
Much more, you saw no need to boast
Of heights you had attained.

I admired you, Mr. Harrison
With you, I was impressed
For though you had such worldly fame
You never puffed out your chest.

So, I will go on listening
Even though you now are gone
For in doing so, at least for me
Your memory will live on.
