 Saturday Blues

My sabbatical is winding down with only one week left;
Work full of it's drama and trauma awaits my return.
What should be a day of celebration has turned into gloom;
As rain, tension, and sadness lay deep in my heart today.
Working on some plumbing projects around the house,
I try to busy myself while I find some victory in this day.
It is not to be, as short lived are any progressive moves,
As my heart is full of dismal waters, stagnate and stale.
I guess I just got the blues today, tomorrow may be better;
As this heavy heart rests in the gentle hands of friends.
I look for a logical reason for today's Saturday blues;
I can find no true source, only small triggers normally handled.
The mountaintop can't be felt today, no it cannot even be seen;
The rain clouds have shrouded the summit in a blanket.
I know from experience that tomorrow will probably shine bright;
Making today seem like a distant memory; a hazy, foggy day.
I wonder if we need to have these days in order to achieve balance;
Or in order to appreciate the blue skies and hot spring sun.
Whatever the reason, I will honor my day the best that I can;
Not wallowing in self pity; no, I simply having the Saturday blues.
