The Beast

Dark be the pit wherein the beast doth reside;
Foul be the thoughts which his mind doth hide.
Bubbling hatred and envy didst eat his heart away;
Now dost he hunger only to rend an slay.

Once noble of visage, both handsome an pure;
Hast fallen he so far, now there be no cure.
Prince of deception, lord of the flies;
List unto him an thou wilt hear only lies.

Rejecting lord and maker, didst scheme alone to rule;
Arrogance be his birth rite, an many be his tools.
Brought down from the heavens to the lowest depth of hell;
Horrendous be his wrath, list to him curse an wail.

The day soon approaches when he be freed to maim an slay;
Beware child of Adam, an thou dost meet him on that day!
Viper quick an python strong, his evil festers still;
Anger of others might cool, yet his own ne'er will.

Like unto a wounded lion, he shall prowl this earth;
Men shall die in windrows, 'till there be a dearth.
Suffering shall abound, belike beyond the ken of man;
Nor couldst escape be found, howe'er fleet he ran.

Thus seek ye the light, whilst still it may be found;
Tarry not oh child of Adam, for the beast be not always bound!
Seek ye after righteousness, an accept the mercy given;
Lest ye face the raging beast, an your life be riven.
