 JANET'S PLANET

Aunt Gret

summer images photo:  S36.jpg

Aunt Gret we all remember
A dear family member
How can we forget
Aunt Gret
She has forgotten us
But we all trust
To remember if she could
She certainly would
Aunt Gret was quite eccentric
Fully charged she was electric
She always got our attention
Not to mention
Her off beat ways
Her crazy days
Her laughs and jokes
Like birds singing the way she spoke
Hot summer days wearing flamboyant straw hats
Talking about this and that
Tasty barbecues dripping sizzling in summer
She was unique beating drums to a distant drummer
The proud way she carried herself
Wanted to be in her classroom myself
Card games she played
Travels and places she stayed
Good intentions of giving cards always
She tried not to forget family birthdays
Aunt Gret you are one of a kind
Today you came to mind
As you sit lost in thought, Aunt Gret
We shall never forget
The fun times we had
Gone away now sad
You are the best yet
Our dear lovely Aunt Gret
