A single red rose
Given to my love
Soft and gentle
Precious and fragile
The smell beckons
Dew kisses it's petals
Caressing your flesh
Chills down your spine
A thorn pricks my thumb
Trickle of blood drops
Sealing our love
Making it secure
The petals open to view
We enjoy it's burst of joy
Our love is now bound
By a rose
