In the beauty of the word

I struggled to excel in literature,
For I'm not such an eloquent man,
But poetry can be my signature,
A story teller if I can,

For words my chosen expression
In a pattern of metre and rhyme,
An attempt at rhythmic compression,
A form I find truly sublime,

I want to write of life as it should be ,
Related simply, the prose to be heard,
As a poet I feel that it could be,
As told in the beauty of the word,

A form of delight, a treasure,
An offering of thoughts to share
The process of narration and pleasure,
An account of a lexical affair.
