JOHNNY DAMON

Red Socks called you Caveman
Bat rocks
Until home again
Is where you went
When you played
Boston spent
Until they paid
For you to play
For New York City
Had to cut that Caveman hair
Style not so witty
As you do your best there
Saw the Emerald City glow green
Two summers ago
Mariners did beam
As they won that show
Home runs were not hit
Ichiro made the grade
Didn't care one bit
It was to see you that I paid
As the Red Socks did rule
World Series you help win
Long hair kept you cool
Blowing home runs in the wind
The day the curse ended
Long-haired boys
In white and red
Blue in their hearts defended
To victory lead
Play the game
Keep playing
In the name
I'm saying
Damon keep on flaming
Burning baseball into my soul
There's no other
Names to be naming
Whatever team you're on
Is the right team for my
Rock and roll.
