BEFORE AND AFTER

DID YOU EVER WONDER WHAT YOU'R GRANDMA WOULD SAY,
ABOUT THE NEW FANGLED GADGETS THEY HAVE TODAY

NO MORE WASHBOARDS AND LAUNDRY TUBS,
NO MORE CARPET BEATERS, FOR THE RUGS

NO MORE STOKING THE STOVE FOR HEAT
OR WOOD IN THE KITCHEN STOVE, SO YOU COULD EAT.

NO NEED FOR DUST PAN AND OLD FASHIONED BROOM,
OR OIL LAMPS AT NIGHT--TO LIGHT THE ROOM

TODAYS WOMEN DRIVING ALL OVER THE PLACE
BUYING COSMETICS TO USE ON THEIR FACE

WHAT IN THE WORLD, DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD DO
TO HAVE ALL THOSE LUXORIES, JUST LIKE YOU

BUT THEN, THERE'S THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY.
THINGS ARE NOT ALL FUN AND GLORY,

THERE'S P.T.A. MEETINGS AND SPORTS TO ATTEND
AND FUND RAISERS FOR SCHOOL, THAT NEVER END.

THIS STORY REVEALS TODAYS WOMEN WORK HARD
IN THE HOUSE, SCHOOL AND EVEN THE YARD

GRANDMA HAD MORE TIME FOR HERSELF, I'D SAY
THAN A LOT OF WOMEN I KNOW OF TODAY.
